The 10th International Conference on Advanced Cloud Computing and Big Data, jointly hosted by our university and Southeast University, was successfully held in Guilin from November 4th to 5th. The conference focused on hot issues in cloud computing, big data, artificial intelligence, edge computing, blockchain and other research fields, aiming to further strengthen academic exchanges and cooperation between international and domestic peers.
Fan Wenfei, a foreign academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Yang Tianruo, an academician of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, Professor Chen Guihai of Nanjing University, Ma Huadong, Executive Dean of the School of Computer Science of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Tao Xiaohui, a professor of the University of South Queensland in Australia, Liu Yunhuai, a researcher of Peking University, Tian Chen, a professor of Nanjing University, and Li Keqiu, a professor of Tianjin University, attended the meeting as special guests and made special reports. More than 60 experts and scholars, including 6 national outstanding youth, 2 Changjiang scholars, and 1 overseas outstanding youth, from 985 and 211 universities and research institutes, also attended the meeting on site. The conference adopts a synchronous online and offline approach, with over 400 experts and scholars from different countries and regions attending online. Huang Wentao, member of the Standing Committee of the School Party Committee and Vice President, attended the opening ceremony and delivered an opening speech. Li Xianxian, Dean of the School of Computer Science, presided over the opening ceremony.
The conference was divided into 4 venues and 64 presentations were held. Domestic and foreign experts have focused on natural language processing, the Internet of Things revolution, network measurement technology, etc., sharing the latest research results with everyone, and conducting enthusiastic and in-depth academic discussions in image processing, artificial intelligence, computer networks, and other fields. A seminar on the 10th anniversary review and future development of CBD was also held at the meeting.
It is reported that CBD is a high-level international conference in the field of cloud computing and big data, which focuses on the hot issues of academic and industrial concern in the field of cloud computing and big data for soliciting submissions. Every year, we receive over 100 submissions from countries across the country and around the world. CBD2022 received a total of 103 article submissions, with 56 accepted and over 117 registered. So far, the CBD Conference has been held to the tenth session (CBD2013 Nanjing, CBD2014 Mount Huangshan, CBD2015 Yangzhou, CBD2016 Chengdu, CBD2017 Shanghai, CBD2018 Lanzhou, CBD2019 Suzhou, CBD2020 Taiyuan, CBD2021 Xi'an, CBD2022 Guilin).
The successful holding of this conference at our university fully demonstrates the comprehensive strength of our School of Computer Science in the fields of cloud computing and big data, effectively enhances the exchange and cooperation between our university and other computer disciplines, and effectively enhances the influence and appeal of the discipline. The conference was held at a time when the whole country was deeply studying, propagating, and implementing the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. Through exchanges and discussions among experts and scholars attending the conference, we further understood the latest research directions in related fields and inspired scientific research ideas. The successful convening of the conference will further inspire the attending experts and scholars, as well as all teachers and students of our university, to make persistent efforts and forge ahead, striving to accelerate the construction of a strong country in science and technology.
