Guangxi Normal University, located in Guilin, Guangxi, is a prestigious institution co-established by the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It is recognized as a key university under the Central and Western Universities Basic Capacity Building Project and is designated as a First-Class University in China by Guangxi. The School of Computer Science and Engineering / School of Software of Guangxi Normal University is a leading institution for first-class discipline construction. It offers a comprehensive higher education talent training system, encompassing undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs. In 2023, the school established a postdoctoral research station in software engineering, becoming the only institution in Guangxi with a postdoctoral station in computer disciplines. Renowned for its strong academic capabilities, the school’s software engineering discipline was selected for inclusion in Guangxi's first-class discipline construction list. In 2023, the discipline ranked 35th nationally (top 30%) in the Soft Science discipline rankings. Furthermore, the computer science discipline entered the U.S. News World University Subject Rankings in October 2022 (ranked 662nd) and achieved a position in the top 1% of the ESI global rankings in July 2023. (I) General Requirements

(II) Position Categories and Qualifications

  1. Tier I Positions

    • Global/National Academic Leaders: Internationally or domestically renowned scholars with profound influence, groundbreaking original research achievements, and the ability to elevate the disciplines to world-class or national top-tier status.

  2. Tier II Positions

    • Distinguished Scholars: Established experts with significant academic contributions, recognized original research outputs, and the capability to sustain international or domestic leadership in their field.

  3. Tier III Positions

    • Competitive Talents: Scholars with national influence, technical expertise, and comprehensive strength in advancing their discipline, or outstanding overseas/domestic researchers with comparable achievements.

  4. Tier IV Positions

    • Senior Professors: Current professors at top-tier domestic universities with academic excellence surpassing their discipline’s average.

    • Qualifications: Age ≤45, Ph.D., full professorship preferred.

  5. Tier V Positions

    • Outstanding Educators/Researchers: Professors/associate professors with exceptional teaching and research records, or highly accomplished scholars.

    • Qualifications: Age ≤42, Ph.D..

  6. Tier VI Positions

    • High-Demand Discipline Professors: Professors in high-demand fields with notable influence, innovation capacity, and growth potential.

    • Qualifications: Full professorship, age ≤45.

  7. Tier VII Positions

    • Early-Career Researchers: Ph.D. or postdoctoral fellows.

    • Qualifications: Age ≤35 (flexibility for those in high-demand disciplines or with exceptional achievements.).

  8. Postdoctoral Faculty Fellows

5. Compensation and Benefits


1. Tier I Positions

  • Salary: Negotiable

  • Relocation Allowance: Negotiable (jointly determined by university and school)

  • Housing Benefits: Negotiable

  • Research Start-up Fund: Negotiable


2. Tier II Positions

  • Salary: RMB 600,000/year (excluding teaching/research performance bonuses)

  • Relocation Allowance:

    • University: RMB 1.2 million

    • School: Negotiable

  • Housing Benefits:

    • Public rental housing or RMB 300,000 housing subsidy

    • Additional independent research workspace provided

  • Research Start-up Fund:

    • University: RMB 1.5 million

3. Tier III Positions

  • Salary: RMB 500,000/year (excluding performance bonuses)

  • Relocation Allowance:

    • University: RMB 900,000

8. Postdoctoral Faculty Fellows

  • Salary: RMB 200,000/year (2-year term)

  • Relocation Allowance:

    • University: Eligible for Tier VII benefits during postdoc

    • School: RMB 100,000 (applicable if retained after postdoc)

  • Housing Benefits:

    • During postdoc: University-provided apartment

    • After postdoc: Eligible for housing benefits as "introduced talent"
