Faculty members of the school have been awarded 2 National Science and Technology Progress Awards, 1 National Defense Science and Technology Award, and 10 provincial/ministerial-level science and technology awards. They have led multiple national-level research initiatives, including projects under the National High-Tech R&D Program (863 Program), the National Basic Research Program (973 Program), the National Key R&D Program, the Australian Research Council (ARC) Projects, and Key Projects under the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Joint Funds.
Over the past five years, faculty members have secured 65 active national research projects with cumulative funding exceeding 52 million CNY. Their research outputs include over 320 SCI-indexed papers published in top-tier international journals such as IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence (TPAMI), IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing (TDSC), IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering (TKDE), IEEE Transactions on Image Processing (TIP), IEEE Transactions on Multimedia (TMM), IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems (TNNLS), and IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology (TCSVT). Additionally, they have presented 80+ papers at premier international conferences including AAAI, IJCAI, and CVPR.
In 2020, the project titled Models for Classification under Data Selection Constraints received the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Natural Science First Prize, marking the school's inaugural achievement of a provincial-level top science award. In 2021, faculty members secured the Key Project Precise Secure Computing Techniques for Multi-Ethnic Cross-Domain Heterogeneous Data Aggregation under the NSFC Regional Innovation & Development Joint Fund, achieving a breakthrough in national-level joint fund initiatives. In 2023, they further obtained another Key Project Novel Neural Network Technologies for Intelligent Visual Perception in All-Weather Complex Environments of Guangxi Zhuang Communities under the same joint fund framework.
