Recently, Stanford University released the World’s Top 2% Scientists 2024 list, and two scholars from our college were selected in the field of Information & Communication Technology. Professor Tang Zhenjun was included in the "2024 Scientific Impact Ranking" (for the fifth consecutive year), ranking 118,177th, while Professor Liu Guanghai was also included in the "2024 Scientific Impact Ranking" (for the fourth consecutive year), ranking 160,944th.
The World’s Top 2% Scientists list, released by a team led by Professor John P. A. Ioannidis from Stanford University in collaboration with Elsevier's Mendeley Data, is divided into two categories: the "Career-Long Scientific Impact Ranking (1960-2024)" and the "2024 Scientific Impact Ranking." The list is based on the Scopus database, screening the top 2% of scientists from nearly 7 million researchers worldwide. It covers disciplines in the humanities, natural sciences, and engineering, including 22 fields and 174 sub-disciplines. The ranking is determined using six key metrics:1.Total citations,2.Hirsch H-index,3.Co-authorship-adjusted Schreiber Hm-index,4.Single-authored publications,5.Single or first-authored publications, andCitations of publications as single, first, or last author.
This recognition highlights the significant contributions of our faculty members to global scientific research and their sustained impact in the field of information and communication technology.
