Time: 2025-05-02

To thoroughly implement the spirit of the important speech and article delivered by  General Secretary Xi Jinping during his visit to Vietnam, we are steadily advancing the implementation of Party Secretary Chen Gang's directive that Guangxi should serve as a front-line window for China-Vietnam exchanges and cooperation, and are making concrete efforts to promote educational exchange and cooperation between the two countries. Our efforts are also dedicated to enhancing educational collaboration between the two countries. From April 21 to 24, Li Xianxian, Member of the Standing Committee of the University’s Chinese Communist Party Committee and Vice President, led a delegation to Vietnam. During the visit, the delegation engaged in in-depth discussions and exchanges with Hanoi University of Science and Technology (a member university of Vietnam National University, Hanoi), Hanoi University, and Hanoi Pedagogical University, focusing on cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence. This visit further strengthened academic collaborations and cultural exchanges between these institutions.

At the University of Engineering and Technology under Vietnam National University, Hanoi, we held in-depth discussions on topics such as jointly building an AI research laboratory and collaborative scientific research. Then, we signed a Letter of Intent for cooperation. Mr. Zheng Dawei, Education Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam, and First Secretary Wang Tingguan attended the meeting. At Hanoi University, we had a thorough discussion about the current operation of the Confucius Institute, its future development, and ways of cooperation. Subsequently, we reached a consensus. We also exchanged views on student and faculty exchanges, as well as jointly organizing academic conferences. At Hanoi National University of Education, we held discussions on teacher exchanges, student programs, and academic cooperation. During the talks, we focused in depth on innovative cooperation in applying artificial intelligence technology to education.

This visit is a strategic initiative by our university to actively implement China’s Belt and Road Initiative and contribute to building a global community of shared future. It marks a new phase of collaboration between our university and leading higher education institutions in Vietnam. By closely aligning with the development needs of higher education in Vietnam, we reached a series of exemplary agreements in cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence.

Then, we will fully leverage its disciplinary strengths and innovation potential. Specifically, we will take a focus on advancing the establishment of joint laboratories, the joint cultivation of high-level talents, and collaborative scientific research and innovation projects. It aims to build a deeply integrated cooperation model among industry, academia, research, and application.
